Bonita Beach Ranked 7th Healthiest in the Country

In its annual survey of beaches and lake getaways, Health Magazine recently awarded Bonita Springs with a top ten ranking as the seventh healthiest beach in the country. A combination of sugary sand, clean water and miles of area parks helped Bonita Beach get the ranking.

According to the judges, Bonita Beach has the best sand anywhere. And, if you have kids, it is a fabulous place to let them swim in the calm, warm Gulf waters, or search for seashells as the tides roll in and out.

Bonita means pretty or beautiful so I am glad it really is!! I will have to go visit next time I am in Florida. I have visited the Texas Gulf Coast a lot.

We have no beautiful beaches in Austin. Congrats on the recognition of your area as one of the healthiest around. Austin is also recognized for many things, making the top ten lists in several national categories.

I have relatives in Bonita, and I can attest that it is a beautiful beach… and I can believe healthy too. The water is much warmer than we have on the Pacific Coast, but our waves are better for surfing. Hey, there are always tradeoffs! Thank you for your post.

Beaches have almost a sacred feeling about them. It is so easy to lose all lifes chaos in the roar of the ocean. Here in Texas we have beautiful beaches on the extreme southern tip of the state, especially near South Padre Island.
