Florida Remains Great Place for Business

Posted by Benjamin Dona on Sunday, October 31st, 2010 at 11:03am.

Florida is a Great State for BusinessThe Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that monitors government fiscal policy, once again has Florida ranked as the nation’s fifth best tax climate for business going into 2011. While some states move up and others down, Florida has remained very steady for six years in a row.

A key factor in Florida's ranking is the lack of a state personal income tax. In addition, Florida also ranks 15th in corporate taxes, 30th in sales taxes, 3rd in unemployment compensation taxes and 28th in real estate taxes.

Not too bad when you consider everything else that the State of Florida has to offer.

Low taxes and those that are consistently low do make for a compelling reason to relocate or stay in any given area. This can be particularly important to the retired community whose incomes are often finite. In Spain, we have a relatively low tax regime which can make living her attractive for the Brits. Like Florida, we also have a great climate which is another great pull!

Lack of personal income tax, just like Texas, another attractive place for business!
