They lost their bid to get it reinstated just this last week. Hopefully, when the folks in Washington come to the realization the bill is not really making things better, we might get some changes that would truly help out the housing market. For instance, after Oct. 1st FHA will no longer allow Down Payment Assistance programs such as Ameridream to help first-time home buyers. Also, Fannie and Freddie will not allow buyers with less than 30% equity in a home use it as income for the purposes of aquiring a loan on a primary residence. This one almost killed a deal for me. While this bill has its good points, it has its bad ones as well.
