The fees for this type of living arrangement are collected annually and typically will range from as little as a few thousand dollars per year to as much as $10,000 per year.

Every member is a resident and every resident is a member – this type of membership provides for year round access to all the amenities the community offers, but most importantly, the restaurants in the country club will not usually suffer "summer hours" when there are few owners in residence. With every member helping to support the "club,"  it's easy to see how golf becomes an affordable option for many who are not living in the community full time. Most courses are 18 holes, some have as many as 36, and a good amount are 27 hole courses. Membership is almost always capped at somewhere between 500 to 850 and most offer social memberships in the 200 to 250 resident range. A golf club social membership does not permit a member to play golf on a regular basis, and it may be limited to only in the summer months. Each community that is bundled offers just a bit of difference to be unique. The golf memberships are tied to the ownership of the home and transfers with the sale of the property. So, if a community offers both social and golf memberships in a bundled arrangement, you want to make sure that you are purchasing a property with golf membership should you desire to play year round.

The golf courses will range from championship to beginner play – nearly every community offers a full time golf pro; and, of course, a fully stocked pro shop. Some communities will permit you to walk the course during certain times of the day, others will require that you use a cart – again, there will be some nuances between each golf club. And, most importantly, nearly every club offers reciprocity during May through October at numerous clubs – some private and some bundled.
